Memorial services for Pinole Fire Captain Richard Voisey will be held on Saturday, March 28th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church beginning at 1:00 pm. Pinole Fire Captain Richard "Rich" Voisey passed away at home after a two year battle with brain cancer.

Rich served the City of Pinole Fire Department for 35 years and was a lifelong citizen of Pinole. Captain Voisey's Memorial will have full Fire Service honors.


West County Battalion 7 and EI Cerrito fire stations will be covered by mutual aid engines from 09:00 am to 6:00 pm. A Memorial Reception will be held at Fire Station 74 at 3700 Pinole Valley Rd between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. The public is invited to the memorial service and the reception.

Tennent Ave. between Pear St. and Prune St. will be closed to thru traffic on Saturday, March 28th 2015 between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm (approximate). Traffic may use Fernandez Av. to detour around the closure. Parking and traffic flow in the downtown Pinole area will be heavily impacted. The Pinole Farmer's Market has been cancelled. Pinole Police Explorers will be present to direct traffic. Pinole Valley Rd between Simas Av. and Savage Av. will be closed to thru traffic from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, March 28th (local traffic, Ellerhorst Little League and reception attendees excepted). Reception parking will be available at Ellerhorst School. Pinole Valley Rd between Ellerhorst School and Savage Ave. will be closed to all traffic between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Valley residents are encouraged to use Savage Ave as a detour.
