Fresno Fire Captain Critically Burned in House Fire Sunday

On Sunday, March 29th, 25 year veteran Fresno (CA) Fire Department Fire Captain, Pete Dern was rescued by fellow firefighters after falling through a burning roof at the scene of a house fire. Fire Captain Pete Dern was transported to the hospital in critical condition after suffering second and third degree burns on at least 65 percent of his body. LODD Notice - Engineer Walker from Ebbets Pass Fire District

It is with deep regret and sorrow that Ebbets Pass Fire District reports the passing of Engineer Paramedic Todd Elliot Walker on November 28th, 2011. Engineer Walker was 38. Shortly after going off shift, Walker suddenly experienced a cardiac event. His sudden death occurred while driving the family vehicle with his wife and children on board. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the United Professional Firefighters of Contra Costa County Local 1230 have joined with Susan G. Komen to raise money for breast cancer research. This will be the first year your local firefighters have decided to join in the fundraising efforts. Bikes for Tykes Charity Program


The Contra Costa County Firefighters have raised and donated money and items to support our organization for the last 20 plus years. Our Bikes for Tykes program began with an engine company crew in Martinez rebuilding bikes for some of the less fortunate neighborhood children and giving them away at Christmas.
