Line of Duty Death Notification: San Jose Captain Jose Martinez


San Jose Firefighters, is saddened to announce the line-of-duty death of Captain Jose Martinez. Captain Jose Martinez, passed away on August 10th, 2012 after a couple of months of being diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer (Synovial Sarcoma). Captain Jose Martinez was 41. He is survived by his wife Melissa, son Jonah Miguel, 8 yrs old, and twin girls Sofia Maria and Olivia Eleanor, just 3 weeks old. Residential Structure Fire in Pinole, Sunday, March 11th, 2012


On 3/11/12 at 08:50:16 the Pinole Fire Department, Contra Costa County Fire District, Rodeo-Hercules Fire District, and the El Cerrito Fire Department responded to a Residential Structure Fire at 480 Tennent Ave., Pinole. CCCFPD Engine 88 Rescues a Citizen from Early Morning Fire in Antioch

At 0648 hours on November 16th CCCFPD Engine 88 was dispatched to the report of a structure fire in Antioch. Upon their arrival they had heavy smoke and flames coming from the first floor of a 2 story residence.   With a quick investigation the Fire Captain found a citizen who was in need of rescue from the 2nd story window. The crew snapped into action and were able to rescue the citizen from a ladder. Great job to Engine 88 and all other fire crews on scene at the early morning fire.
